Lot Details:
This lot gets its name from the village, Halo, in the Gedeb woreda (district) of southern Ethiopia, where the wet mill is situated.
Gedeb is part of the larger Gedeo zone and coffees from this area are collectively referred to as Yirgacheffee. Established in 2020, the Halo Hartume wet mill is surrounded by various small holder growers whose farms, typically 1-2ha, are situated at 1,900-2,200masl. The soil here is a fertile, red-brown soil common to the Ethiopian highlands. This lot is made up of cherries from 564 growers – the chief variety grown is Dega and the harvest period is November-January. Coffees from Halo are known for their uniform bean size
